EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

I’ve worked in the Glen Allen community for 35 years — ten years as a general dentist and 25 years as an orthodontist. I was always fascinated with science and medicine in particular and all things mechanical. I was drawn to dentistry because it incorporates all of these so seamlessly. I earned my Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts. Both my Doctorate of Dental Medicine and specialty certificate in orthodontics were earned at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

In order to keep current with ever-changing technologies in the orthodontic field, I take more than twice the required hours of continuing education required by the state. It is imperative for me to provide my patients with the newest and most cutting-edge techniques in orthodontic care to achieve the best, longest-lasting results. To that end, I’m involved in a number of local study groups, such as the Richmond Dental Society and the Richmond Orthodontic Study Club. I also attend formal continuing education courses put on by various orthodontic companies such as Invisalign®, as well as courses offered by the American Association of Orthodontists and the Southern Association of Orthodontists.

IN THE OFFICE

We require people who are proficient in their jobs with experience and longevity. My team has all of these qualities and is exceptional at what they do. Some of our team members have been with us for over 20 years. Now that’s what I call loyalty!

AT HOME

I grew up in and around Boston, but lived around the country as well as in Europe when I was with the Air Force. I have lived in Richmond for more than 20 years.

I enjoy spending time with my wife Tiffany, my two grown boys and two girls, as well as our dog and two cats. When we are not at a soccer game or gymnastics or a dance recital, my wife and I like traveling, cooking, and hiking. We are also active contributors to many local school athletic and arts programs.
